Seller's comments about 1949' Alfa Romeo 6C

1 of only 68 Short Chassis Cabriolets built - Extensively restored by brand specialists a few years ago - Technically and visually in outstanding condition - FIVA Passport, Mille Miglia-compliant Description: Thanks to state support, Alfa Romeo had the opportunity, but also the task, of building the best cars in the world in the 1920s and 1930s. Despite the destruction of the factory buildings, the company was able to live up to this reputation even after the war with the 6C 2500 models. Gifted coachbuilders handcrafted some of the most beautiful, but also most expensive cars of the era on the "rolling chassis". The list of celebrities who adorned themselves with an Alfa 6C 2500 is long. The chassis of this 6C 2500 was delivered by Alfa Romeo to PininFarina in 1948, only to be shipped to the USA around a year later as one of only 68 Short Chassis Cabriolets built. The vehicle returned to Europe in the 1980s and was extensively restored in France in early 2000 and then again between 2012 and 2014. Both technically and visually, the vehicle is outstanding - and the grigio colour already suited Rita Hayworth perfectly when she drove up to her wedding with Prince Ali Kahn in her 6c 2500 SS Pininfarina Cabriolet in May 1949! 6-cylinder DOHC in-line engine, 2, 443 cm³, 3 carburettors, approx. 105 PS 4-speed gearbox, wire wheels - 1 of only 68 Short Chassis Cabriolets built - Extensively restored by brand specialists some years ago - Technically and optically outstanding - FIVA pass, Mille Miglia eligible Description: Thanks to state support, Alfa Romeo had the opportunity (but also the challenge) to build the best cars in the world in the 1920s and 1930s.
