The classic Spider is the embodiment of freedom. A car that inspired the masses from its very first years. Designed by the Italian design master Battista Pininfarina, it was the last work of his life. She captured the imagination of millions thanks to her important role in the 1967 film The Graduate, in which the brilliant Dustin Hoffman sat at the wheel. Previously, Americans liked large and heavy cars, but Spider proved that small can be beautiful... and fast, especially with a 2-liter engine.
Its two-shaft engine powered by a system of double horizontal carburetors allowed it to accelerate to 100 km/h in just 10 seconds. What was new at that time was a 5-speed gearbox and disc brakes on all wheels. This is the essence of a classic sports car in its pure form.
The year 1970 was the beginning of the second production series, called "kamm tail" or "Coda tronca" or "cut tail". A more conventional appearance allowed to increase the trunk capacity and further improve the car's stability at high speeds.
At the same time, modernization changes were introduced to the suspension, and larger diameter rims and wider tires were used, which resulted in better handling in corners.
The presented copy has the most powerful 2-liter engine, excellent technical condition and the interior is in a very nice condition. The Alfa is registered with vintage yellow plates.
