Seller's comments about 1934' Bentley 3 1/2 Litres

Welcome to Oldie Point!
We are always on the lookout for vintage and youngtimers!
We look forward to your offer!

In 1931, Rolls-Royce bought everything auctioned off by its struggling former competitor in bankruptcy proceedings - this is how the 'Bentley' brand name survived on the list of British car manufacturers. Two years later, the Bentley 3½ liter proved to be a successful combination of a chassis that had actually been extensively tested for a Rolls-Royce with a supercharged 2 ¾ liter engine that never went into production and a machine that was derived from the Rolls-Royce 20 /25, but significantly revised, had significantly increased performance. Thanks to 110 hp at 4,500 rpm, neither the appealing acceleration nor the top speed of up to 150 km/h - depending on the body - left anything to be desired. Rolls-Royce coined the term "The Silent Sports Car" and this model was also highly regarded by W.O. Bentley, who was under contract with Rolls-Royce from 1931 to 1935. [Source: K.-J. Rossfeldt, ]

The example of the Bentley 3½ Liter presented here was delivered to England on June 27, 1934 as the Park Ward Saloon. The manufacturer provides extensive and precise documentation on the maintenance and repair work in the first few years after delivery. The vehicle has been in French ownership since the mid-1980s and was used very often at classic car events during this period. Now it is offered for sale from this estate.
The vehicle is ready to drive and is in good technical and visual condition. The original 6-cylinder engine still runs perfectly and the original gearbox shifts accurately and reliably. The mechanic from France, who has looked after the vehicle for the past four decades, is still available and could be contacted for technical questions about the vehicle.
