Forget everything you know about the BMW 328, the basis for the Bristol. The Bristol 400 from 1949 offered here offers experiences in several respects that no other sports coupe from the time can offer you so quickly. The car was completely dismantled by the current owner and rebuilt in more than 2,000 hours between 2017 and 2020. Great importance was placed on original materials in the interior and were also purchased from specialists in England. Whether fabrics for the roof lining or sun blinds, leather or carpets, only top quality was used. The body was treated with the utmost care in every step of the process, the paint was applied in 12 layers and sanded until the result was flawlessly deep and shiny. The paint shows perfectly except for a small spot at the front, see photo. All chrome and wooden parts are in perfect condition. The technology works perfectly, the 6-cylinder in-line engine has been optimized for performance with 3 Solex double carburettors and offers something special in terms of both power delivery and sound. The Bristol on offer has the heater available as a factory accessory and, on the other hand, can be very well ventilated thanks to the crankable rear window in conjunction with the air exhibitors in the footwell. The restoration was documented with many photos and lists and a history book was written. There is the original workshop manual as well as six other manuals and parts books on the care and maintenance of the Bristol, which were purchased by a Bristol expert in Australia. The Bristol 400 has German papers with H-registration and is currently running with seasonal license plates. He is a prize winner at the Classic Gala in Schwetzingen. A vehicle of this quality is hard to find and worth every penny. The owner of this rare vehicle is always a welcome guest at exhibitions and concours events. Arranged privately, viewing by appointment.
