This is the kind of car that would happen when dad got to walk into the dealership alone. Because while this 1962 Chevrolet Impala Sport Sedan four-door hardtop might look classy, its really a street machine in disguise. The hot small block under the hood and a four-speed stick could have been the neighborhood sleeper. And the fact that it also has an A/C interior makes it a terrific all-around cruiser. The first impression this Impala makes is just of a very correct classic. The factory-correct Autumn Gold gives off the right first impression. It has been resprayed later in life to make sure it has a good shine, but it has also has the right aged-in style to make sure this looks like the classic family car it is. The full-length side trim shows off a good alignment of both sets of doors, and the factory wheel covers coordinate with the paint. But theres also an extra level of cool that comes on a car like this. The hardtop sedan gives even more space to show off the classic pillarless hardtop profile. Plus, the wraparound rear glass arguably makes it more stylish than the 62 coupe. So while you might have been able to convince many back in the day that you bought a sensible sedan, this is secretly the hot one of the lineup. The correct Fawn interior is a harmonizing color with the exterior gold. So youll happily roll down all the windows on this hardtop just so people can get a better look inside. And since this is a family-size car, you can also take them all along for a ride. It has such a vintage look with the button-top seatbacks, matching door panels, and all that bright trim on the dash. All the best stuff is kept on display, like the AM radio and even the factory-style horizon tach. Going for a drive is particularly fun because the air conditioning lets you stay cool while showing off your cool pillarless hardtop sedan. When you open the hood, you see this one has earned its racing flags on the fenders. The 327 cubic-inch V8 was introduced in 1962, and this storied displacement was also the largest small block you could get at the time. While a classic, you can see it also has received the right modern upgrades, like cast aluminum valve covers, a newer polished compressor, and a Be Cool aluminum radiator. The V8 inhales deeply with a four-barrel carburetor, and it even has the desirable double-hump heads. There are upgraded headers that let this motor exhale with added power and authority into a Flowmaster dual exhaust. The four-speed manual transmission puts you in the center of the action, and it turns this family-style car into a bit of a Saturday night sleeper. And power brakes with front discs are there to give this cruiser extra confidence on the road. Complete with owners manual, this is a family-style affordable classic with all the right moves... and thats why we know it will be moving out of our showroom soon, too. Call today!!!
