Seller's comments about 1970' Dodge Challenger
STORY
When you talk about Mopars, you don't just think of high-capacity muscle cars, but also of extraordinary high-impact colors - as in this case. Because this Challenger was delivered by Dodge in the original color "plum crazy" and fits perfectly with the rest of the car's outfit. Black vinyl roof, black/grey interior and chrome "Cragar SS" sport wheels with White Letter tires.
The dream of a classic was partially restored in the USA a long time ago before being imported to Austria and cared for by two owners here. According to this, the Challenger R/T (which stands for the "Road/Track" equipment line and also for the top model of the 70 series) equipped with a 383 Magnum V8 "Big Block" engine is still in extremely good condition, was recently Freshly serviced, a §57a sticker check added by 05/2024 and a historical Austrian registration already available.
The first Dodge Challenger was introduced in the 1970 model year and belonged to the pony car (long hood, short deck) vehicle category of compact sports coupés or convertibles named after the first Ford Mustang. It gained notoriety through the filmstrips "Vanishing Point" and "Natural Born Killers", among other things, and this example achieved fame and glory through a top placement in the originality rating at the Mopar Nationals in the USA. The classic car received 200 out of a total of 220 points! Accordingly, great attention was paid to keeping this collector's item as true to the original as possible. The so-called cowl tag (stands for the possible equipment options ex works) can be used to understand this accordingly. At this point we would like to list a few features: 727 TorqueFlite automatic transmission, Cragar SS sport rims in chrome look, black / gray interior with leather / fabric upholstery, front disc brakes, air conditioning (but without function), power steering & brake booster, headrests / neck rests , double pipe exhaust system, electr. Window regulator, Rallye fittings, "Light Group" and "Protection Group" with side moldings and bumper overriders, orig. MW/FM multiplex radio, "triple polished spokes" steering wheel, center console, right outside mirror, spare wheel/rim and jack.
Visually, 1970 models are characterized by rear lights that extend across the entire width of the vehicle, the retracted, continuous grille was interrupted by a central bar from 1971.
