Jaguar achieved something unprecedented in the automotive industry in the 1960s. Both the roadster (OTS) and coupé (FHC) versions became style icons not only of their decade but also of motoring in general, inspiring not only other car manufacturers but also the world of fashion and pop culture. 1966 saw the debut of the 2+2 Coupé version, a long-wheelbase model capable of carrying four passengers. The stylish British Grand Tourer, in its original incarnation (S1), was produced for just one year, before receiving stylistic updates in the following year (1967). The example we offer dates from 1966 and retains all the collector-appreciated attributes of the so-called first series.
