1967 JAGUAR E-TYPE SERIES 1. 5 2+2 COUPE PETROL MANUAL
Finished in fresh Jaguar Imperial Maroon with black leather trim. This is a lovely example in all respects with a genuine mileage of 73, 500 miles. This vehicle has enjoyed low ownership and is only being sold now due to the owner’s ill health. Although the vehicle is historic with a road tax and MoT exemption, the owner has diligently had an MoT carried out and this is valid until 14/ 1/ 23. This Jaguar was delivered on 1/ 6/ 1967 by P J Evans, Jaguar dealer of Birmingham and then on to its first private owner.
Powered by the superb Jaguar 4. 2litre DOHC straight six with manual gearbox. The series 1. 5 was only recognised as a full variant once the series II was in advanced production, however, there were very few made making the Series 1. 5 rare and very collectable. It was stated that a 1968 E-type series 1 4. 2 litre was the driving force for the series 1. 5 litre.
This example has enjoyed significant care and improvements with a large amount of mechanical works recently carried out including (and most importantly) a complete engine rebuild (The original engine number was 7E53345/ 9 and the new engine number on V5 is 7F58728) a full bare metal re-paint, re-chromed to make it as fine as you see today. Previous expenditure included rear axle, rear suspension, differential renovation, cooling system and both doors and screens replaced plus carburettors, cylinder head and camshaft rebuilt, complete overhaul of axle, drive shafts and universal joints, complete brake overhaul including handbrake and new calipers and pads, 4 new shock absorbers, new joints to prop shaft , new doors and lock assemblies, complete overhaul of steering rack, complete overhaul of gearbox, 5 new wire wheels, air filters replaced, gaiters on wishbones replaced, and the master cylinder replaced. We estimate that the renovation of this car today would cost around £60, 000.
The history folder includes: current and previous MoT certificates, DVLA documentation and records, MoT certificates which warrant the mileage and date back to the late 1970’s-2021, previous invoices totalling circa £28, 000 for renovation, maintenance and upkeep, Castrol Jaguar dipstick wipe and container, Castrol handwipes, Top up fluid funnel, Smiths Radio booklet, Jaguar duster, Jaguar road fund licence holder and old road tax discs, Hpi check, RAC vehicle history check, car valuation report, Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate number 67607, Report on this e-type confirming the date of registration , chassis, gearbox number and body number are all correct and original.
To many, many people, the elegant E-type Jaguar is the ultimate classic sportscar and it is easy to see why. Always a head-turner, instantly recognisable and way before its time. This British marque has stood the test of time in all respects and will always be a complete favourite.
