Sales informationOn 18 November 1957 this Jaguar XK 150 3. 4-litre Fixed-Head Coupe was shipped to Jaguar Cars New York USA, where a few months later it came into the possession of the first owner, Mr C. J. Rotter. The fine coupe remained in the USA until a Dutch collector, who specifically wanted this model for his Jaguar collection, decided to add it. We are talking about the year 2014. The car was due for a complete restoration and was entrusted to the skilled hands of the Coventry firm from Uden. This specialist is a devoted partner of the XK’s owner and maintains all of his English cars.We probably don’t need to explain to enthusiasts and connoisseurs how much time and effort it takes to restore a car like this to the very last nut and bolt. Several years passed, partly because several cars were being restored for the owner, and he — which you should never have with a restoration — was in no hurry. There was no deadline set, but the result had to be perfect in every detail. And we must say honestly: Coventry has fully delivered in that regard. At the owner’s request, a few comfort-related improvements were made. Thus there are beautiful period-style, hand-made seats fitted that give longer drivers much better support and seating position, and the XK is fitted with power steering. The brakes have also been upgraded all round and at the front feature four-piston calipers. The XK now stops like a modern car. The old Moss gearbox has been replaced with a beautifully smooth five-speed gearbox that transfers power more quickly and precisely.Not immediately visible, but certainly noticeable in the perfect warm and cold start is the installation of electronic ignition. The alternator provides sufficient power for, amongst other things, the automatic cooling fan.The car is very well documented, including all invoices, photographs and a Heritage Certificate showing that we are dealing with a car with matching engine numbers.This Jaguar XK 150 3. 4 Fixed-Head Coupe, painted in the stunning Gun Metal Grey, has just covered its initial running-in miles and is ready for the enthusiast for whom only the best will do.
