A real unique piece. Probably the only copy of the Jeep Delahaye Vlrd in Poland. The French equivalent of the Willys jeep. Monument 1953. Driving. Complete condition, very good, very low mileage, 20,000 km. Only 9,623 pieces were produced. registered in Poland as a monument entered in the register of monuments. The Delahaye liaison and reconnaissance vehicle appeared in 1949 as the successor to the American jeep. Although it looked very similar overall, it was actually much more technically advanced. It had a 4-speed synchronized gearbox, locking differential, independent suspension with torsion bars, and a 24-volt electrical system. Like the British Austin "Champ", it was something of a "super jeep". The Delahaye was adopted by the French Army in 1950–1951 to replace the Willys and Ford jeeps. Unfortunately, its technical sophistication turned out to be a serious drawback due to the high level of maintenance required and the risk of breakdowns caused by inexperienced drivers. After numerous attempts to solve these problems, production ceased in 1954–1955, and 9,623 vehicles were produced, the last of which were produced by Hotchkiss, which took control of Delahaye in early 1954.
