Seller's comments about 1973' Land Rover Range Rover Suffixb
We have pleasure in offering this exceptionally original 1973 Range Rover Classic 2 Door. The car is a Suffix B which was built in 1973. In 1974 it was exported to Johannesburg in South Africa and spent the next 42 years in the sun. The condition is lovely with a patina that cannot be replicated and which would be a shame to lose if it was restored. She has had areas of paint here and there the worst of which is the bonnet, lower tailgate and roof which are not perfect (we could restore them if you wanted) but it is quite exceptional to have a car of this age with zero corrosion. Mechanically the Suffix B is lovely with a strong engine, smooth gearbox, and driveline which was properly tested having just performed faultlessly on a road trip throughout Scotland. Internally the car is clean and bright. The carpets and Palomino trim are in good order, the roof lining is in good condition but the dash pod is tired and has been moved over to accommodate a non-standard rev counter. The seats have been recovered in a non-original cloth trim. Personally, I would recover the seats in the correct 8 pleat Palomino PVC, remove the rev-counter, replace and relocate the dash pod in the correct position at additional cost The Range Rover was repatriated back to the UK in the Spring of 2017 and was re-registered onto a correct 1973 'L' registration. We imported to Japan in 2019. Following work has been carried out. Brakes overhauled, carbs overhauled, brake servo replaced to new one. Air conditioning installed.
