FULLY UK V5 REGISTERED ON A CORRECT 1964 "B" REGISTRATION STUNNING RUST FREE 1964 EUROSPEC MERCEDES 230SL WITH BOTH TOPS

A very rare chance to own a just stunning 1964 matching numbers Mercedes 230sl Pagoda with a large history file including the original 1964 German bill of sale to LT George Beardsley who bought the 230sl new while stationed with US forces in Germany, George seems to have returned to the US in 1965 and history documents seem to show the Mercedes was shipped back to the USA in August 1965 and been bought new in Germany the 230sl is a true eurospec model with no horrid side markers etc, The Pagoda seems to be a rust free example but later this week I will take underneath photos and add them to the more photos link at the bottom of the listing, Both tops are present and both are in really nice order the famous Pagoda shaped hard top is in very nice order the glass is clear and roof lining material is excellent as is the wood trimming, The soft top material is also in very nice order and the back window still clear and folding frame all working nicely and good order.
The red paintwork is also very very nice not a shocking US respray you see at all and also not a recent repaint and still present are the important headlight notches and the wings have all the original spot welds down the inner edges and panel gaps all round look excellent and just a very straight looking body all over.
As the pictures show the interior trim is just lovely, the seats are in very nice order with just right amount of wear and still feel soft to the touch also the carpets and gauges and chrome inside and out is excellent you will notice the after market radio fitted but in the boot comes the original 1964 Becker Europa radio ready to refit.
Driving wise the Mercedes performs spot on its starts first time and goes through the gears beautifully and the matching numbers 2300cc engine does not miss a beat with good oil pressure and holds temp in the middle of the gauge, Please just ask if I can help more
