Seller's comments about 1965' Mercedes-Benz 230

We are pleased to present this 1965 Mercedes 230 SL “Pagode”, offered in European cabriolet configuration with a blue-navy hard top, in an elegant combination of Papyrus White 717 G and a blue-navy interior. Its last owner acquired it eight years ago and has kept meticulous maintenance.Produced in the mid-1960s by Mercedes-Benz, the 230 SL inaugurates the legendary “Pagode” line. It is powered by an inline six-cylinder 2, 306 cc engine developing 150 hp, coupled to a four-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels — an iconic setup, delivering smoothness, mechanical pleasure and timeless elegance. The coachwork, built on a self-supporting monocoque, underwent a full restoration in 2010–2011. It presents today in very handsome condition. The wheels, painted to match the body colour with chromed flanges and blue-navy centres, harmonise perfectly with the overall configuration. They are fitted with Michelin tyres. The interior, restored in the same period, faithfully respects the original layout. It features blue-navy faux leather upholstery in excellent visual condition, carefully preserved veneers, and its period Blaupunkt radio. The blue-navy mohair hood as well as the original hard top, in the same shade, complement the ensemble harmoniously.Mechanically, the M127 engine, as fitted to the model presented, was overhauled in 2018 with the installation of a new cylinder head adapted for unleaded fuel usage. The running gear and braking system were restored in 2010–2011 and then revised again in 2018.The vehicle is registered with French historic-vehicle status (collection registration).Valid technical inspection, maintenance invoices available, as well as a copy of the original manual.Part exchange considered on a sports car or collection vehicle.Complete photo and video dossier available on request.
