Seller's comments about 1970' Mercedes-Benz Sl Class
According to the data card, this Pagoda was produced on November 26, 1970, and soon left Germany for the USA. First registered in 1971, the SL remained in sunny Florida for around 50 years until its return to Germany, which was obvious after the bodywork was stripped down. The restoration work was subsequently carried out in its entirety by a German restoration specialist. After the complete repainting, renewal of the interior, the soft top, and the tires, the engine, transmission, and differential, etc. were overhauled. After the restoration, the Pagoda was only driven a maximum of 500 km for adjustment drives.
We then sold it about three years ago to a collector of classic Ferraris, who has driven it only 2, 300 km to date. Modified at his request with a new, perfectly shifting GETRAG 6-speed transmission*) and adjustable KONI shock absorbers, this Pagoda delivers unprecedented driving dynamics! Nothing remains of the tired and, above all, noisy 4-speed 280SL that was delivered from the factory. Other special requests included Baroque rims (see photo 2/ 9), a removable wind deflector, automatic seat belts, and the door interior trim has since been converted to European standards (see photos 3/ 4/ 5).

A perfect daily driver that is not only extremely dynamic but also very relaxed to drive. This classic car is in perfect condition, never driven in the rain, no service backlog.
) * GETRAG 6-SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION
In the 70s and 80s, AMG converted several Pagoda W113, 109, and 107 models to manual transmission with Getrag gearboxes. Getrag was already a transmission supplier to Porsche and BMW in the 70s. This transmission gives the Pagoda unprecedented driving dynamics. Short shift travel and perfect gear ratios, whether you're a lazy shifter or a sporty driver.
