Seller's comments about 1960' MG A Mk2
We are privileged to offer this exceptionally fine example.
History -
Built in 1960, as a right hand drive car, it was exported to South Africa (dry climate). Repatriated to the UK 1976, when it underwent a very thorough and comprehensive restoration programme by a professional car restorer (now retired). The engine was completely rebuilt by the highly respected firm of Westwood Portway.
As part of the restoration, a 5 speed gear box was installed, as well as all the usual items including stainless steel exhaust, new external trim, etc.
Since then the car has been dry stored and has only covered 233 miles.
Now fully recommissioned by a renowned VSCC engineer with new battery, horn, boot rack, etc. The hood and side screens are new, installed by MGA specialist Bob West.
Drive Impressions -
Drives exactly as it should, with good oil pressure. This MK2 incarnation delivers almost comparable performance to the last of the twin cams without any of the hassle, unreliability or cost associated with that derivative.
Until recently cars of this quality and pedigree were achieving sales results well into the £30, 000's but we are able to offer this exceptionally fine car at only £26, 995
(virtually half twin cam price).
