Seller's comments about 1968' MG MGB

Just arrived back with us at RFH Classics is this charming 1968 (G) MGB GT finished in the ever popular shade of Damask Red and complemented by a refurbished Black Leather interior. This chrome bumper car is one we had the pleasure of supplying last year, however its most recent owner has now decided to take some time out to travel and we were pleased to have the opportunity to welcome the car back into stock. The car is an honest and well cared for example that perfectly captures the timeless appeal and everyday usability that has made the MGB GT such an enduring classic. The GT was the coupe version of the MGB range and introduced slightly later than the roadster, arriving in 1965. Styled by the renowned Italian design house Pininfarina, the GT’s distinctive fastback profile and elegant proportions set it apart from many of its contemporaries. Over the years it has gone on to be one of the most recognisable British classics, combining the practicality of a fixed roof coupe with the engaging driving experience that made the MGB a success worldwide. This particular example is an older restoration that has matured nicely over time. The Damask Red paintwork retains a deep and glossy finish that presents extremely well, highlighting the crisp lines of the GT shape. The chrome and brightwork remain in excellent condition and the car sits well on a set of refurbished wire wheels which have been powder coated for durability while retaining the classic appearance. Inside, the cabin has been enhanced with Black Leather seats which provide a tasteful and sympathetic upgrade over the original weave-style trim. Whilst being done the remainder of the interior trim, including carpets and trim panels were also replaced helping to give the cabin a fresh clean and inviting place while remaining the car’s period character.Under the bonnet is the familiar lead free 1798cc B-Series engine which starts readily and runs extremely well, delivering strong performance along with excellent oil pressures both hot and cold. The engine is paired with a 4-speed manual gearbox with an overdrive that operates perfectly and helps for a more relaxed cruising and comfortable driving experience. The engine bay itself presents cleanly and reflects the overall care this car has received. To accompany the car we have a history file which includes Service and MOT records dating back to 1990 which are a nice addition and help to get an idea about the cars previous history and which suggest that the displayed mileage may well be correct, although as with any classic vehicle of this age, we are unable to guarantee this.RFH Classics are proud to be Bedfordshire’s largest independent classic car dealer, with over 35 years of experience supplying quality vehicles you can buy with confidence. Our reputation has been built on trust, excellent customer service and the many positive reviews we receive from customers both locally and across the UK.The car qualifies for historic road tax and benefits from being ULEZ exempt.
