The MG Midget was released in June 1961 but already as a 1962 model from where the inspiration of what would become the 1962 Austin Sprite was “drinking”. After that the Midget was released in June 1961 as a model From 1962, the car became one of the most popular British sports cars of the next twenty years. Around 74,000 units were produced by 1979. Built alongside the redesigned 1962 Sprite, the Midget was recognizable by a hood trim and wide, vertical bar grille.
This car was registered in Portugal on December 30, 1961 with the registration number, CE-77-37 and is in a state of competition. Engine, ground block, pistons and segments etc... still running. It was approved by the Club Português de Carros Antigos according to a plate fixed on the dashboard.
