Seller's comments about 1945' Packard Clipper Special Eight
National in excellent condition. Brand of enormous prestige and quality. Completely revised by Timeless Garage. New classic tires. Rare car. “Designed by Howard “Dutch” Darrin in just 10 days, magnificently paid at 1000 Dollars a day (!), they were presented in April 1941. With a completely new chassis and many technical innovations, such as an automatic start button , or a heating fan under the driver's seat, were at the time the widest and most expensive production cars in the world. They came equipped with a huge in-line 8-cylinder engine. This example has the particularity of having been built in 1942, although its sale was only recorded in 1945, that is after World War II. This fact makes it extremely rare, as very few cars were built by Packard in 1942″
