This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Classic Sale at the NEC Classic Motor Show 2025 on Sunday the 9th of November, NEC, Birmingham, B40 1NT.The TR3A was Triumph’s definitive 1950s roadster – a rugged, charismatic sports car offering lively performance from its torquey 2. 0-litre four-cylinder engine and timeless open-top designIt was never officially badged as a TR3a but was, in fact, a minor revision of the TR3, with updates including a new wide grille, exterior door handles, lockable boot and a full toolkit The example you see here was imported from California in 2011 by Prodrive senior engineer, Richard Thompson, who heads their Prodrive Legends operation, who undertook a comprehensive body-off restoration to an exceptional standardThe chassis was stripped, blasted and repainted, while the body was refurbished and repainted in its original Powder Blue by Normandale Bodyworks of DaventryMechanical components were comprehensively rebuilt including the engine, gearbox, rear axle and braking system.
