1959' Triumph TR3

Nut and bolt restored TR3 Overdrive. The restoration was carried out in the Netherlands by the famous Triumph specialist Hans Kooij. Taken care of by an employee of Kooij for his own use, so there was plentiful time and craftsmanship. The result is of high quality down to the last detail. The bodywork is nice and tight and the fittings are excellent. During the restoration, the TR3 was professionally repainted in the beautiful sporty color "Signal Red" and the paint still looks beautiful with a deep shine. There are beautiful GB alloy wheels mounted with wide tires, the original steel rims with chrome hubcaps are also present. The black hood is almost like new, just like the tonneau cover.
The interior is beautiful, the dashboard was then newly upholstered and new carpet was fitted. All instruments and switches work as they should. The original seats have recently been newly filled and upholstered with beautiful real leather and red piping. The powertrain has been completely overhauled, and a TR4 gearbox with overdrive has been chosen. Driving is big fun and you can drive it excellently sporty with surprisingly low revs. A small light sports car with a relatively large "low-revving" engine was already a smart and proven concept; lots of torque, sporty performance and less wear and tear. The 4 in line starts on the button both hot and cold and thanks to the overdrive you make low revs on the road. The overdrive shifts smoothly on and off and is available on II to IV so you have a total of 7 gears!
In recent years, the TR3 has been well maintained, and various things have been replaced and improved; such as a new high torque starter motor, new wheel brake and master cylinders, fuel pump with filter, clutch master cylinder, electronic ignition with new battery and ignition coil, cooling hoses, etc. The SU's are adjusted and equipped with new needles. There are some invoices present and there is also maintenance carried out by the last owner. Recently the valves have been adjusted, various gaskets have been replaced and the brake / clutch fluid has been changed.
Conclusion: this top restored TR3 A drives, steers and shifts wonderfully. It's genuinely a classic British sports car; Compact, fast and stylish.
