Triumph TR4A RHD with overdrive. First registered in March 1967, this home market motorcar has been in single ownership since 1977 when it was purchased by the current owner having covered just 29, 000 miles in it's first ten years with it's first keeper. Finished in it's original Conifer green with Black upholstery piped in white. An all steel TR4A with it's original factory vin tags and 95, 000 recorded miles. The car's history is supported by a large service record file. Following lengthy discussions with the owner, we are pleased to offer this genuine home market TR4A as a project opportunity to complete to whatever level is desired. As can be seen in the photos we have removed both doors and section cut the passenger side sill for closer inspection. However, the car is complete and there are new sills in stock along with all manner of parts and spare options that can be considered. Engine turns over freely and oil gets up promptly. The engine was rebuilt in 2016 at 92, 000 miles with new pistons and liners. a fast road cam is fitted with Webber 45 carburettors and SAH inlets. Servo brakes and uprated springs were also fitted. We last had the car here at Classic Triumph Sportcars over the Winter 2019/ 20 when it was refreshed and serviced for use. A new steering rack was fitted together with track rod ends along with some minor weld repairs to the very rear of the frame and a new MOT was carried out at 94, 000 miles. Having clearly not been used much in recent years and storage in and out of the home garage, JOJ has has recently returned to us for an appraisal and estimates for costings and time frame put in place for a full restoration. However, our client does not wish to join our already loaded work schedule for restorations now that he is at last free to enjoy the motorcar on a regular basis and has tasked us with sourcing another car. As a result, after almost fifty years, it is time for a new home for this TR4A. A good honest car - yes. Work needed - yes. There are all manner of spares options, including new sills, choice of soft top frames, a Surrey top option, choice of seats that can be put together as a package to go with the motorcar. A lot to talk about - yes. So viewing is essential and encouraged. You will be made most welcome and we think you will enjoy your visit. We are happy to have honest and in depth conversation and will seek sensible and serious offers - and of course, plenty of tea !
