Take a look at this extremely handsome Triumph Vitesse Convertible, isn't it a great looking car!

Some cars just survive the years with a succession of careful, caring owners and this in one of them - it's an absolute belter!

Beautiful Triumph Royal Blue paintwork with the original Shadow Blue interior and a Beige Mohair hood - it looks so classy.

With only 49000 miles showing (believed genuine), a huge history file of parts bills, MOTs and invoices from specialists you know this Vitesse isn't just a poorly assembled home restoration. A good 2ltr Vitesse is a hoot to drive with way more power and fun available than anyone expects. They don't need to rattle and vibrate their way along either as this one proves - just that smooth straight six engine pulling forever with the added bonus of Overdrive on 3rd and 4th gear giving seemless acceleration for overtaking and then the comfort of higher gearing for cruising.

Looking through all the old bills you can see it has been regularly maintained, repaired and improved as the need arose with some new body panels and an engine rebuild in the 90s. More recently there was a conversion to unleaded fuel, some paintwork and the new hood in 2016, and since then it has had very little use which has prompted the owner to sell it. I have been storing and looking after the car during his ownership and am selling it on his behalf.

Someone needs to use and enjoy this fabulous car!

On the outside, the body is straight and paintwork very good with no signs of corrosion anywhere. The doors and bonnet fit well, open and close well and as you can see the underside of the bonnet, bulkhead etc is painted nicely too. The aluminium bumpers are all good and all chrome trim is good. The hood is very nice and being beige Mohair is a real stand out from the usual black vinyl. There are period wing mirrors and a stainless steel boot rack too.

Inside there is the original Shadow blue interior all in good condition with correct Vitesse seats. The carpets were replaced many years ago but are still very good. Inertia reel seatbelts have been fitted and a period radio in the correct (rare!) mounting pod with speaker. The dashboard is as original and surviving well. An added bonus of the Mohair hood is the nice light coloured inside which looks much nicer than black.

Mechanically, well she is a great driver and has obviously never wanted for attention. Great power and enthusiasm from the 2ltr engine, perfect smooth engaging overdrive although it has to be said there is a little gearbox whine in the lower gears. Brakes are excellent, clutch smooth, everything works as it should and there a no rattles, knocks or bangs. Wheels are minilite style alloys with all good tyres.

Looking underneath there is no corrosion to be found, no signs of MOT patch repairs, just waxoyl, a straight chassis, stainless steel exhaust and plenty of evidence of regular maintenance and little upgrades.

Sensible extras include electronic ignition, electric cooling fan, alternator, spin on oil filter conversion, braided stainless brake hoses, silicone brake and clutch fluid and fuel hoses changed to E10 compatible. All of which will help you enjoy driving this Vitesse reliably.

Sometimes a car comes along that you'd happily own yourself and this is one of them. I would encourage anyone genuinely interested to view and test drive but please don't expect any silly offers or time wasting to be entertained and no part exchanges. Good genuine original Vitesses are very hard to find and I don't think this one will hang around long - so be quick!
