Seller's comments about 1954' Wolseley 4/44

Stunning 1954 Wolseley 4/ 44 Saloon An exceptionally pretty car with loads of WOW factor, thanks to its resplendent Golden Bronze bodywork and Buckskin coloured interior with polished walnut dashboard. Runs and drives superbly having been overhauled and restored by previous keepers which included 2 new front wings, engine, carb and brake overhaul, all new window seals and re-trimmed upholstery, carpets and doorcards, must have been very expensive. Also benefits from over £6000 recent expenditure by ourselves, for engine re-tuning. professional repaint and bodywork, fuel system upgrade and 4 new Vredestein radial tyres. All told, a very fine example of 50‘s motoring. Eligible for membership of the exclusive Wolseley Register. Comes with books, tools and records. Badgebar and club badges, Twin foglights, Working semaphores plus flashing indicators, Original colour sales brochure, Wolseley Marque history book, Digital temperature gauge and USB power output added, Workshop manual, Starting handle. Fresh MOT, Car located in Lytham St Annes, Lancashire, door to door transport arranged at competitive rates, but more fun to drive it home yourself. Call John on number above.Marque InfoClosely related to its cousin, the MG Magnette, both designed by Gerald Palmer of Jowett fame, The designs showed the influence of contemporary Italian styling, in particular a Lancia Aprilia with special bodywork by Pinin Farina. The 4/ 44 was the luxury version and in keeping with the more staid (and respectable!) image of Wolseley owners, it sat higher on the road and boasted the traditional illuminated grille badge. It incorporated a column change 4 speed gearbox. Steering was by rack and pinion. Quite a scarce model nowadays, with only 148 left on the UK roads (compared to over 800 MG’s.
