Verkäuferkommentare zu 1942' Lincoln Continental

The 1942 Continentals were unique in several aspects.
Civilian automobile production was shortened after the Pearl Harbor attack
resulting in only 200 of the freshly restyled Continentals being produced in
the model year and no more were made until the 1946 model year. These “first
generation” Lincolns were the last American cars featuring a V12 engine and
were an engineering tour de force.
This car was originally owned by the opera star Grace Moore.
Following her death in an airplane crash in 1947 it was purchased by John D.
MacAdams who would later found the Lincoln-Zephyr Owners Club. Mr. MacAdams
undertook a three year comprehensive restoration of the car in the mid ‘60s to
the highest standards. He subsequently sold it to a fellow enthusiast in 1968. The
car was intermittently shown but rarely driven, and in 1984 Terry Johnson sold
the car to John Bradley. In 1997, Mr. Bradley consigned the car as an exemplary
example of the Continental to the famed Petersen Automotive Museum in Los
Angeles for an extended display lasting almost ten years until February 2006.
The virtually perfect Continental was then sold into its
current owner’s collection. Other than regular maintenance, it is in the same
amazing condition as when it was restored almost fifty years ago. It represents
a high water mark in pre-war American automobiles and is recognized as a “Full
Classic” by the Classic Car Club of America. It comes with significant records,
tools, and books.
