Comentarios del vendedor sobre 1968' Jaguar E-Type

Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1968 Jaguar E-Type 2+2. Finished in maroon over black interior, this is a solid driver-quality example owned by the same family since the mid-1980s. The current owners mother bought it as a gift for his father nearly forty years ago. Originally primrose, the car saw a color-change repaint to maroon prior to the familys purchase. The body is straight and the finish retains a nice shine, but there are plenty of small chips and other slight blemishes consistent with 40-year-old paint. Wire wheels, chrome and seals are original and showing some patina. Aside from some light surface rust, the floor pans and rockers are solid with no known rot. Interior is believed to be mostly, if not entirely, original and the leather seating surfaces have developed a lovely lived-in patina. Period AM/FM radio. All gauges and lights are working properly. This car was optioned with air conditioning, but the A/C does not presently work (although all of the components appear to be intact). Under the bonnet is the original numbers-matching 4.2 liter XK dual-overhead camshaft, inline six-cylinder engine mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Recent comprehensive service in preparation of the sale. This XKE starts easily and runs well; the clutch and gearbox feel good with no crunchy synchros; there is no excessive play in the steering or suspension and the brakes stop confidently (and straight). Jaguars ahead-of-its-time XK engine has long been one of our favorite classic car powerplants. While the Series II XKE may lose a few style points over the Series I cars, its more approachable price point and truly stellar driving dynamics should put it on any enthusiasts short list. This example is an early Series II car, which we would consider a series 1.5, as it retains the smaller/lower bumpers and exterior lighting arrangement of the Series I cars.
