Commentaires du vendeur sur 1934' Vauxhall Asy
Sadly, after 26 years, the time has come to part with Maud. She has always been taxed and on the road, but does no more than the occasional shopping trip these days, less than 100 miles per year. The Light Six was introduced by Vauxhall in 1933 and became the best seller in its class. The straight six 1530c.c. engine of the ASY has a 4-speed synchromesh gearbox and 12 volt electrics. The styling was the latest from the new parent company General Motors in America, but the coach-built body was still a Vauxhall with all leather upholstery. Maud was first registered MJ3900 on 6 April 1934 at the factory. She spent her early life in Kingsbridge, Devon with little use, as her owner was often abroad. In 1977, she was rescued from a ruined barn, restored and used in Torquay. She came to Cornwall and was bought by the present owner in 1991. She is tidy, but not smart. She always starts easily and runs well. Over the years, the current owner has had the brakes overhauled, the bumpers re-chromed, rebuilt the sunshine roof, replaced the radiator grille and done some cosmetic tidying to the upholstery. Much useful help and advice was received from the Vauxhall Owners Club. Some wiring has been replaced, but the main mechanicals have not been touched apart from routine maintenance.
