1931 HILLMAN WIZARD COUPE CABRIOLET 2 seater with DICKY SEAT
Finished in dark green with black wings, running board complemented by a black hood with tan leather trim. We are advised that the Wizard was a ‘Car for the Moderns’ meaning that it had been tested for international conditions and was well tested on the continent.
This 2 seater plus 2 seater dicky seat car is of generous proportions is in very good original condition without molestation. The vehicle has had 7 keepers covering only 57000 miles, believed to be genuine, in 87 years.
Due to The Great Depression (USA) and the Great Slump (UK), only 7000 Wizards were made in various formats between 1931-1933. Following extensive research, we believe this is the only remaining Wizard Tourer on the road today.
The many original features include: pressed steel body, silent 3rd gear, front and rear bumpers, chromium plating and draught free ventilation. This rare 6 cylinder motorcar has its original black wire wheels and Triplex safety glass fitted throughout - quite an innovation at the time.
The history folder includes; current and previous V5s, original buff logbook, 1931 ‘The Wizard’ book of Service Data, 3 page vehicle inspection report, Mot certs since 1976 and related paperwork, maintenance and upkeep invoices, images of the car, 1931 article on Hillmans, Hillman register letter and editorial, valuation report, bill of sale, DVLA docs, letters and helpful notes, Rootes Club information, adverts from 1991, Australian cars for sale, parts list, technical data sheet, historical details, spec sheets for suspension, engine, chassis, wiring and steering gear, original Owners instruction book, writeups, sales catalogue x 4, insurance paperwork, business cards and supplier details.
