Comentários do vendedor sobre 1962' Jaguar E-Type

This is a private sale of my stunning early 1962 LHD series 1 E-type Jaguar 3.8 roadster. It is a complete and genuine matching numbers car which retains all of its original features such as the 4 speed Moss gearbox, dynamo, 2 bladed cooling fan, points and condenser ignition system etc.
The car is painted in Old English white with lovely red leather interior and has only covered 87,000 miles from new.

This early E-type was built in February 1962 and registered by the factory here in the UK at Coventry under the registration number of "718 WK" which it still retains and is a nice addition to the car itself. The first owner collected the car at Jaguar works himself and drove it here in the UK for a while before having the car shipped back to Colorado in the USA.

In 1997 a previous owner purchased the car and began a complete nut and bolt frame off "rotisserie" restoration and during the restoration changed the original exterior colour of Sherwood green with moss green leather interior to Old English white with red leather interior. The restoration was completed in 2002 and the owner kept and enjoyed the car very sparingly until he sold it to an English buyer who had the car repatriated back into the UK in 2015. At the time of sale the car had covered less than 1500 miles and even today has still only covered less than 1800 miles since being restored.
When I purchased the car it was already in superb condition but I wanted it in immaculate condition and within the last 3 months I have spent over £17,000 to get it to the condition it is now. with an E-type specialist here in Hampshire. In fact the car is still at the garage and has only been driven to the mot station and back again since they have completed the work for me.
Here are just a few of the items and jobs that I have had them carry out for me:-

A complete new wiring loom along with new fuse boxes, indicator switch, heater motor and switch, wiper motor.
2 x New manifolds.
A full stainless steel exhaust system.
All new fuel lines.
New brake and clutch reservoirs along with correct fluid bottle tops.
Rear axle cradle removed and new bearings fitted along with new rear hubs etc.
4 x correct stainless wire wheels and new tyres.
new ball joints.
Plus far too many other items to mention.

The engine and engine bay are very nicely detailed and the engine runs superbly. The Moss gearbox changes gear just as it should with no problems whatsoever.

The centre gearbox tunnel had a small cut out in it which I was not happy with so rather than leave it like this I had a complete new tunnel welded in (a lot of expense I know but I am a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my cars and I wanted it right) At the same time as the tunnel was replaced the correct sound deadening felt was also replaced.

The bodywork and paintwork on this car is absolutely amazing with no rust or marks on it whatsoever and the panel gaps are also excellent.
The hood fitted to the car is the expensive mohair type and a red piped hood stowage bag accompanies it to place over the hood when it has been lowered.

The car passed its mot yesterday with NO advisories at all so has a full 12 months mot on it.

The car will be sold with all of its restoration invoices, and a CD of the restoration process.
It has a Jaguar heritage certificate.
The original Coventry transport museum certificate of authenticity stating that the registration number "718 WK" is the one it was first issued with when built.
All of the shipping documents and bill of sale from when it was imported back into the UK are present.

So there we have it. This really is a beautiful and immaculate early series 1 3.8 roadster.
The car can be viewed at the garage that have carried out the work on my behalf and of course can be put up on the ramp for a thorough inspection of the underside as well.

I am only selling my E-type as I have very recently had an accident to my leg that now prevents me from driving the car.
I was considering putting the car into an auction but thought that I would try selling it on this classic car site first.
Please feel free to contact me if you require any further information about the car or would like to arrange a viewing.
