Comentários do vendedor sobre 1936' MG Sa Tickford
In 1935 MG commissioned coach builder Mulliner to design a luxury saloon car. Production of the SA saloon started in 1936, soon followed by a 2 door DHC convertible with coachwork by Salmons & Sons, known as the Tickford. 696 SA Tickfords were built with 93 thought to survive.
The car is generous in proportion with sweeping curves giving the car perspective and balance. Overall length of the SA is 16' 1” (4.9m), with full leather interior; mahogany dash and door cappings add to the luxurious features.
The original straight 6 engine produced 2322cc, 85bhp. However, this car is powered by a 3 litre, 145bhp MGC straight 6 engine of identical proportions and appearance which allows the car to cruise comfortably at speed with improved acceleration. The original engine has been fully restored with original spec white metal bearings. This SA is offered for sale powered by the MGC engine, along with the fully restored original engine and gearbox included in the sale price. It is a relatively simple procedure to return the car to original engine spec should a purchaser wish to do so.
This luxury car drives smoothly and easily and takes hills in its stride, with a comfortable leather interior and large boot to carry luggage appropriate for long distance touring. The large doors make it easy to get into and out of, with plenty of legroom. The front seats drop forward to allow 2 extra passengers entry to the rear seat.
This car has undergone a 20 year, full ground-up restoration, and has run smoothly since 2011. The SA is currently running with Ace wheel trims finished in County Cream.
The SA has been repatriated to the UK and is running on original plates CFY 570 and is currently on a European tour ending 29th July 2017.
