Comentários do vendedor sobre 1954' Triumph TR2

With much sadness, we are looking to part with our 1954 Triumph TR2. It was owned (and rallied internationally) for many years by my late father, Jan
Pearce, a well regarded figure in the British and international TR community, whose Le Mans car (PKV374) recently set a price record for a Triumph TR at auction in the UK.

The car is a long door Car (Commission number TS2321) subsequently converted to short doors, and was featured in "Triumph TRs - The Complete Story" by Graham Robson.

The Standard Motor Company Document shows a build date of Monday 21st June 1954. The original registration was in Northern Ireland on 1st July 1954. It was subsequently registered in the UK in 1957, and then purchased by my father in 2007. The UK original registration was PZ 9300.

The car was transported to Australia in December 2015, and costs associated with transporting the car back to the UK would be the responsibility of the buyer.

Technical specifications are as follows:
* Transmission: Manual
* Odometer reading: 89,225 miles
* Commission number: TS 2321
* Body/shell Number: 728082
* Cylinder capacity: 1991 CC (probably now 2130 or 2200cc in view of the rally history of the car)
* Original engine number: TS2512E (per UK documentation)
* Wire wheels and good tyres
* Some outer fibreglass panels (replacing original steel) including the front apron.

On arrival in Australia the car had significant work completed by professional mechanics including:
* Dismantle & strip front steering & suspension
* New bushes & fulcrum pins
* Front wheel bearing kits
* Front sway bar bushes
* Front shock absorber rubbers
* New grease nipples

Whilst much remains original, some upgrades have been undertaken over the years, including:
* Front disc brakes
* Uprated gearbox
* New high performance alloy radiator and electric fan (with originals retained)
* High port cylinder head with 1 3/4" SU carburetors

The tonneau is in very good condition and the car comes with a soft top and side curtains.

The car runs well and is essentially rust-free. It is a sound everyday road car that could used as is or could be restored to be an outstanding rare long door TR2 with an interesting provenance.

We would love to see this car go to a good home, as it has a great deal of sentiment attached! The car is also advertised for sale in Australia, but the current strength of the British Pound against the Australian Dollar may represent an opportunity for a UK-based buyer to secure it at a very competitive price!
