A one off pillarless coupé design by Rippon Bros of Huddersfield. The coachwork on this car is the last word in elegance.
The car belonged for many years to the late & much missed Derby Bentley afficionado Julian Paul of Ughill above Sheffield. Julian was known for his fastidious yet sympathetic restoration of his cars & indeed won numerous prizes for the cars he showed.
This Derby is no exception having run under Julians tenure in a good number of Derby based rallies & comes to us in impeccable mechanical condition. The engine personifies the monniker "The silent sports car". It starts instantly & pulls one down the road at speed in a quiet & unruffled manner.
The car is finished in excellent black & dark blue paint that accentuates the elgance of the design beautifully. To the interior is original feeling Bedford cord to the front & rear with the front seats having fitted covers, the better to preserve them.
The dash-board wood on the car has been removed & refinished. A large sunroof slides easily open. An art decco style spot lamp adorns the font valence augmented either side by a pair of trumpet horns. Under the bonnet the engine bay is pleasantly tidy & workman like with the black parts having been painted in deep gloss. Attention has also been given to replating the chrome work where required.
Rarely do we get a derby of this elegance rareity & beauty. Hurry as we do not expect to have it long. A large gallery of high resolution pictures may be viewed on our web site at http://www.vandp.net
