I have owned MSU 754 for 4 1/2 years and spent hundreds of hours on mechanical work as detailed below to improve usability and driving experience.
•New Hood and tonneau cover(Black)
•Windscreen Motor rebuilt
•SU carbs stripped and rebuilt
•Rear wheel bearings replaced (sealed type)
•LH rear hub and half shaft replaced
•Front wheel bearings adjusted to remove play
•Several tub / engine mounting brackets repaired.
•Transmission tunnel removed , repaired and re-installed.
•New floor installed
•Bulkhead fittings + numerous incorrect or missing fasteners replaced as required.
•Waterpump replaced, cooling system stripped, flushed and rebuilt inc rad / hoses / clamps etc
•Engine painted 2K grey inc water pump etc, exhaust manifold painted with VHT paint
•Four new Blockley 4.50-19 tyres and inner tubes fitted.
•All 4 shock absorbers rebuilt by specialist Stevson Motors 2018 (2year warranty)
•Complete Stainless steel exhaust fitted (supplied by Peter Edney)
•Steering rack upgraded to VW box (supplied by Peter Edney)
•Front steering suspension – all linkages stripped and rebuilt.
•Fuel sender rebuilt and fully working with warning light.
•Dashboard stripped and rewired / rebuilt. Dash lights upgraded to LED. All gauges / lights working correctly. Oil pressure gauge and indicator switch incorporated into dashboard.
•Indicators fitted front and rear.
•Original seats cleaned and treated.
•Engine setup fully following compression test (~125psi), points set, timing / mixture adjusted, carbs sync’ed etc.
•Braking system– master cylinder and all four slave cylinders rebuilt, all brake shoes replaced with improved pad material (supplied by Peter Edney) currently undergoing bedding in process.
Chrome luggage rack, side windows and original air intake/filter included. Paintwork and chrome in very good condition.
Runs and drives very well. Fully serviced less than 200miles ago. All gauges, switches, lights work (except fog lamp) and has been 100% reliable.
Regrettable sale due to lack of spare time.
Ready to be enjoyed.
Will be supplied with spare oils etc required for servicing. Operating/ maintenance manual also included.
Previous owner owned car for 25 years, always garaged, file of receipts from previous owner included for engine rebuild, bodywork, new wire wheels and leaf springs, speedo and rev counter rebuild, general servicing going back to 1989 when it was imported from America.
