Seller's comments about 1974' Alfa Romeo Spider

This is one of our all-time favourite models! It is a 1974 Alfa Romeo 2000 Spider Veloce, UK Supplied Right Hand Drive, finished in Classic Yellow with Black interior. Our car is showing 86k Miles on the clock and is in a lovely older restored condition, ready to use, driving well and ready for the summer! Over £7k has been invested in the last few years! This is a huge load of Italian Style for very little money!A modern classic by Pininfarina, the simple-yet-elegant 'Kamm tail' Spider bodywork, which premiered on the 1970 Spider Veloce Series 2, would prove enduringly popular, lasting into the 1990s. The Spider's mechanics were essentially those of the Giulia with independent front suspension, a coil-suspended live rear axle, and four-wheel servo-assisted disc brakes, whilst the engine was the Giulia Sprint GTV's 1. 6-litre, double-overhead-camshaft four. The twin-Dell Orto equipped 2-litre Spider Veloce (105. 27) arrived in 1971. Wind tunnel testing resulted in the 2000's signature drag-reducing Wunibald Kamm-designed 'Coda Tronca' tail, while improvements over the earlier Duetto models included bigger brakes and a limited-slip differential. Other changes were not so easily spotted. The windscreen was more inclined, leading to additional modifications and adorning the front was a new heart-shaped grille and revised bumpers. Several other detail changes were made before production changed to the Series 3 in 1982. Outstanding speed, acceleration and handling were all characteristics of this class-leading model, which nevertheless possessed a remarkable docility, even at high speeds. Our car here, finished in the rare colours of Yellow over Black, is a UK supplied example, first registered on 1st May 1974. The car is now in a lovely condition, the paint is very nice and the shut lines are great. She was totally restored around 2019 with over £20k invested. The car was originally White but was changed to Italian Yellow during the restoration. Mechanically she is strong and is a really solid example also. The car has a detailed folder full of service and parts history back to 2014 including all major parts, summary below include (but not limited to):2014: U-Joint Prop/ New Hood/ Flywheel/ Clutch/ Full Service2015: New N/ S Sill/ Heater Matrix/ Full Service2016: Plugs/ Rad/ Full Service2017: Battery/ Rear Pads/ Full Service2018: O/ S Read Caliper / New Rear Disks / Pads/ Full Service2019: Full Engine Re-Build (unleaded)/ New Alternator/ Engine & Gearbox Mounts/ Full Service2020: Oil Service / 2021: Oil/ Plug Service / 2022: Pinion Oil Seal2023: New Battery / New Leads2024: Full Service Plus: New Plugs/ Leads/ Points/ Condenser/ Dist Cap / Rad flush / Oil/ Filter/ Brake Fluid / Gearbox/ Diff Oil/ Timing TDC/ Carb Tune-up/ Balanced / Brake Servo installed.A further £10k has been invested since 2024 including a full suspension overhaul using Koni Adjustable Dampers, She has a new MOT until April 2027 with No Advisories at all! These were the last of the chrome bumper Alfa Spiders and this, being a factory Right Hand Drive car, is a rare example! This is great value with the amounts invested already in the car, she is a great example! With prices of Duetto and Boat Tail Spiders going through the roof, these will be the next to move, buy now while they are still affordable I reckon!
