Seller's comments about 1960' Berkeley T60

For sale is my 3-wheeled Berkeley T60 (Chassis No. 547) which I have owned for the last 10 years. This car was first registered on 1st January 1960. It is fitted with an Excelsior Talisman 328cc twin cylinder two-stroke engine and an Albion gearbox with reverse. As a departure from the original this engine is the air-cooled variant fitted to rear engined cars which does provide better cooling. The car comes with a new hood, spare wheel and plenty of spare parts.
During my stewardship I have worked steadily to restore this car to a more original state; there is still work to be done (the seat needs replacing and the side panels need covering). Even by 1960s standard this is a very basic car: it has no door locks, petrol gauge, heater, radio and the internal mirror was an optional extra; but for me that was all part of the appeal. This car is becoming very rare - only 1,850 were made; many have been converted with mini engines and, at least 5 years ago, only 36 were known to be running.

I last had the car on the road 5 years ago. Whilst in storage it has developed a couple of faults, discovered when I recently tried to start it. The petrol pump has failed, I replaced this with a cheap pump off eBay but now the carburettor is flooding. Originally the petrol was gravity fed but you will need a different carburettor float and needle to facilitate this. I also discovered that the battery will no longer hold a charge and I do not have a replacement.
I was an active member of the Berkeley Enthusiasts Club and strongly recommend that all owners join the group. They were able to supply me with all the advice and spare parts I needed.
This car was great fun to drive and handles amazingly well but you need a degree of flexibility to work on it and to get in and out of it. This is now beyond me. I reluctantly sell.
