Body: Sports Car
Age: 91 years

Superb 1930's sports car fully restored in 2002 and mechanically refurbished recently by ourselves. The Daimler was supplied new to Australia in 1933 and repatriated in 2003. Bodywork is by Martin and King to a design approved by Daimler. It has an interesting history covering its restoration, featured in the Automobile for December 2002. Latterly it has been 20 years in a private collection in the Isle of Man. The recorded mileage of 31k is believed correct.
It is remarkably advanced for a 90-year-old car and its lively 1. 8 litre, 6-cylinder engine is a work of art, idling at a couple of hundred rpm and bursting into life at a touch of the accelerator. The pre-selector gearbox is one of the smoothest we have met and shows the advantages of this transmission when properly set up. We have reset and aligned the steering, checked the gearbox bands, re-calibrated the ignition system, renewed the coil and condenser and checked the hydraulic brakes and servo (yes, 1933, but it does have servo brakes).
Part exchange may be possible. Altogether this is an outstanding car and very rare in this condition.
