Because of my age, I have to sell my beautiful De Dion Bouton.
History: Automobiles DE DION BOUTON - founded in 1882 by Count Albert de Dion and automobile designer Georges Bouton, was one of the most renowned automobile manufacturers from the early days until 1933. By the 1900s the company was the world's largest engine builder and supplier for many brands such as Citroën, Renault etc. Even today, the De Dion axle enjoys an extraordinary reputation. The IT model was built as a chassis with engine and powertrain. It was customary at the time for specialist companies to subsequently produce the bodywork according to the individual wishes of the customers. We have no information about the previous French owners. J.L. Grezer from Sion imported the vehicle in poor condition on March 25, 1964. The remains of this jewel of automotive technology still passed through several hands before I acquired the De Dion Bouton in October 1980.
Restoration: I was in charge of the integral restoration work that we carried out with a team of specialists following the original plans. We have attached particular importance to using only original parts and materials from the period. Also, the security requirements of modern times have been scrupulously respected. We refurbished the braking and steering system and replaced the pivot pins. With regard to the electrical part (brake lights, turn signals etc.), we had to make certain inevitable adaptations. Today, the vehicle is in immaculate condition. It enjoys the status of class C historic vehicle (vintage from 01.01.1919 until 31.12.1930) and can circulate without any restriction on public roads in Switzerland.
