This 1940 Ford coupe has that unmistakable attractive style of a sleek classic pre-war machine. And with the upgraded suspension, comfortable interior, overdrive transmission, and proper V8 power, its the kind of icon that loves to cruise. The black paint is a color with a timeless feel. Its a professional application done a few years ago and so you get the right look of distinguished age. That also means the gloss really knows how to show off the gentle curves of the sheet metal that make these coupes so attractive. We love these business coupes because they give us the classic look of a sharply pointed front end, running boards, and a long trunk large enough for the full salesmans kit. But while this one is vintage, right down to the V8 logo up front, theres also something much more. Details like the tinted windows, dual exhaust tips, LED turn signals, 15-inch American Racing Torq Thrust wheels, and a hint of intimidating stance all give this the look of a fun driver. It makes it look like a fun driver without straying too far from the classic formula...and that seems to be the right overall theme for this one. The burgundy interior has a cool classic appearance but there are also well-integrated upgrades. For example, the seat has newer velour covers, but the classic-style pleating looks nice as it matches the doors, rear panel, and even the trunk. The two-piece windshield, classic dash, and factory speedometer are all part of the vintage appearance. But its not hard to start recognizing the upgrades. This is a more comfortable driver with a smaller diameter Limeworks steering wheel thats made to look like a 1940s unit. Theres also a tilt column, Lokar floor shifter, and Stewart Warner gauges underneath the center of the dashboard. This was all carefully crafted to keep a vintage style. So your radio is now a retro-style unit, and they hid a modern CD player in the glovebox. Theres a bright small block nestled within the dark engine bay. And we love the 400 cubic-inch V8 because it gives you a big displacement in a smaller package that fits in a classic coupe like this. It has been built with the right upgrades. This includes a Holley four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock high rise intake, and headers feeding into the dual exhaust and Flowmaster mufflers. There are good supporting components, like the HEI ignition, newer wiring, and an aluminum radiator. It makes for a strong motor that loves being a true cruiser. Thats why you have a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission with highway-ready overdrive. And as you look underneath, you really understand how this one was made for modern driving. You also have a Mustang II-style independent front end, newer are bushings, QA1 shocks front & rear, power steering, and power brakes with front discs for a solid all-around driver. This coupe has been with the same owner since 2018, and in that time there are thousands $$$$ of receipts for professional upgrades and proper care. This has the right look and the right features to enjoy all weekend long and turn heads everywhere you go. So dont miss your chance at this sharp 40 Ford coupe, call today!
