Seller's comments about 1979' Ford Escort
Have been hanging onto this for a rainy day, but really do need to free up space now, got far too much stuff.
Mk2 Escort - yes its a genuine UK car and genuine RS2000, with full v5 logbook in my name.
Was a show- winner back in the '90's and has had a hell of a lot of work and money thrown at it over the years.
Not been on the road since the late '90's or early 2000's, but has been restored over the years; and always dry stored in a dry, de-humidified garage, on stands, with suspension 'relaxed'.
Engine; 2 litre Pinto, dry sump, fully rebuilt with loads of work done to it.
Suspension and brakes; brand new and up-rated all round, lowered nicely, brakes have never seen fluid in them, everything as new.
The interior is all there, all immaculate condition, nothing missing, and all original condition.
Body; rock solid, has had welding in the past, but not a huge amount, and all finished well with panels as oppose to patches.
Paint; underside finished in black too. The paint on the top-side is decent, but the roof has some micro blisters etc from where its been in storage with a cloth over the roof.
The bonnet, nose-cone and front doors are all very well prepped and just need finishing in black. Obviously I would paint the whole car whilst at it.
The engine bay is perfect so doesn't need painting at all.
Bonnet has holes cut out for group one bonnet catches to be fitted (These are included - brand new NOS catches- super rare, cost me a couple of grand and you wont find another set without paying silly money and hunting for years!).
Wheels are original, not copies and are perfect condition.
Overall the car needs some tinkering and fettling just to finish it off, and just the basics sorting like, new brake fluid and bleeding brakes, replacing the belts on engine, replacing service items etc.
As you can see the car is highly modified and up-rated in terms of engine, power, suspension and brakes etc. But is a real clean and original shell and will make a stunning classic Ford or investment once completed.
Will add more photos soon as know these are a bit vague...
The RS is all complete, and has boxes of spares with it, nothing is missing.
I do have an original, un-cut bonnet available too, if buyer prefers to sell the catches and original bonnet. I also have the original, matching numbers 2. 0 Pinto, complete, and gearbox available too. These parts are not included, but buyer will have first refusal over them.
Great car, will be sad to see it go, but haven't got time to complete the project, and desperate as ever for storage.
Genuine enquiries only please... Any questions, please ask...
Can organise transport anywhere in the UK if needed.
Thanks, Matt
