Seller's comments about 1966' Ford Mustang

The first-generation Ford Mustang Fastback is a true icon. Few cars capture the imagination like Ford’s muscle car. The Mustang is generally popular not only with American car enthusiasts but across the board of classic enthusiasts.
The Fastback is the most popular body style in the range and the early years are a favourite. Given the arrival of the model in 1965, we can say that this ’66 model is an early one. The beautiful lines, acclaimed 289 cubic inches engine and beautiful colour scheme make this one a bull’s eye for the Mustang adept.
We prefer to call the body of this Mustang ‘pure’. The car has already been restored once and that was done in a complete and very professional manner. As a result, the car still looks exceptionally beautiful. Sheet metal, paintwork, fittings: everything is as you rarely encounter. The chrome-plated moldings also fit perfectly everywhere and look beautiful. The car stands on original steel wheels and tires in the correct sizes. The tires with double red trim complete the look of the Ford, they were available as an option in the catalogue at the time. It is one of the few parts of which we are happy to report that it is not the original.
The interior of the Fastback is very nice. The upholstery, carpet, door panels and dashboard are all in a very neat condition. Striking for Mustang connoisseurs are the two extra gauges, visible on the sides of the steering column. This time clock and tachometer were parts of the beloved Rally-Pac, as the package was officially called. It makes this restored Mustang an exceptionally attractive car.
The Mustang is powered by the powerful 289 cubic inches V8 with 200 horsepower, in this case in the two-barrel setup. In this case, the engine is coupled to a three-speed automatic transmission. 200 horsepower may not sound like a huge explosion of power, but the Mustang gives you no idea of being underpowered. The V8 delivers a solid portion of torque and the power is also more than enough to give a firm push in the back.
More important than the power is the huge dose of character that a Mustang has on board. Driving, steering and acceleration: it’s all a big party with the Ford, partly due to the good chassis, the pleasant steering characteristics and, last but not least, the gurgling of the V8. Pressing the large left pedal you will experience that it is also good with the braking capacities.
In this case, we also pay separate attention to the documentation. A gigantic pile of invoices, brochures and information comes by car. A stack of property deeds is also included. The icing on the cake is the original maintenance book, neatly stamped by the dealer who delivered the car new, Hughson Ford Sales in San Francisco, California.
All in all, this is one of the most beautiful and interesting Fastback Mustangs we’ve seen lately.
