1964 JAGUAR E-TYPE SERIES 1 3. 8 FHC This Jaguar E-Type Series 1 3. 8 FHC is a fine example of the iconic British sports car, which has been meticulously maintained, and benefits from a previous restoration and engine rebuild. Under the bonnet is the numbers-matching 3. 8-litre straight-six, which delivers around 265bhp to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The odometer currently shows 52, 277 miles from new, however this is not warranted. The last 3. 8-litre engine E-Types were delivered in August 1964, with the new 4. 2-litre models being rolled out from September. Built in July 1964, this is one of only 25 examples to leave the Brown Lane factory that month, and it is believed to be one of the last few 3. 8-litre cars produced. It has benefited from an older restoration, as well as a more recent £20, 000 top-end engine overhaul and cylinder head rebuild, which was carried out in 2018. EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES This E-Type Coupe is finished in its original factory colour scheme of Opalescent Silver Grey over a red leather-trimmed cabin. It rides on a set of 15-inch polished wire wheels with two-eared knock-off hub nuts, which are shod in vintage-style Blockley tyres. The cabin is equipped with a Retro (modern) Motorola stereo, manually operated windows, and Smiths dials. A Golde Continental sunroof was installed one month after the car'??s original delivery, at the scheduled 500-mile service at Henlys. A new stainless steel exhaust system has also been fitted. The vehicle will be accompanied by a large history file, containing the original Henlys bill of sale, 12-month warranty card, service book and registration card, as well as its Jaguar Heritage Trust production trace record certificate, and a sunroof instruction card and invoice, plus MOTs going back to 1978. Its original toolkit and wire wheel adapter will also be supplied. The vehicle specification displayed may not be exact for this vehicle. Please contact us to confirm the precise specifications.
