The Lancia Fulvia 1. 6HF Fanalone, a limited production homologation car built to satisfy Group 4 Rally Regulations was the ultimate expression of the highly successful Fulvia model which debuted at the 1965 Turin Motor Show. It rapidly became the car to beat in everything from rallying to hill climbs and circuit racing. In rallying it particularly excelled running as a Works car for 10 seasons between 1964 and 1974, a highlight being 1972 with a Works Fanalone winning the 1972 Monte Carlo Rally and the overall World Rally Championship that year. Only 30 Fanalone (meaning big headlights) were built in right-hand drive form making this beautiful example a rare bird indeed. With matching numbers and finished in its beautiful original colour scheme of Jamaica Blue Metallic with black interior it is in exceptional condition throughout and retains all of its rare and unique Fanalone hallmarks. It is an original Lusso version, intended for road use and so came equipped with subtle chrome bumpers, folding rally seats and additional soundproofing. The lovely shade of blue is unique to the Lusso version. The Fanalone has been well maintained over the years with invoices on file from Lancia specialists, notably Omicron who carried out extensive mechanical work on the car in 2009-10. It not only looks fantastic, it drives beautifully as well and has clearly been very well sorted by those who know.
