Body: Convertible
Age: 68 years
Mileage: 130 km
Fuel: Petrol
Transmission: Manual

The vehicle on offer is an early 190 SL model from the first production series and was first delivered in 1956. As an option to the present convertible with a soft top, these touring sports cars were also available as a coupé (with a hard top or even with both roof variants). offered from 1955 to 1963. The second option was less popular because of course you had to rely on good weather to be able to enjoy your ride in the open air. As with other models, the sales designation 190 was used for the displacement, measured in centiliters. The additional designation SL simply stood for “Sport Leicht”.

This two-seater, elegant roadster corresponds to a condition grade of 1 (a valuation report from a court-certified expert as well as extensive restoration photo documentation is available) and presents itself in fabulous overall condition with its Silver Gray Metallic paintwork, red genuine leather interior and fabric top.

Thanks to the manual transmission with 4 fully synchronized gears, the Mercedes can be moved easily with its 105 horsepower. You can currently only read ~130km on the km/h speedometer, which has been in place since the engine was overhauled.
Unusually, the 1955 to 1958 models had an engine block with a water cover, which is where the term water cover engine comes from. Other features of this first series include the small taillights, blacked-out Plexiglas sun visors and of course the beautiful curvy shapes that extend across the entire body. There are also countless playful chrome applications that really make this car something special.

Similar to the iconic "big brother" 300 SL Gullwing, this roadster has comfortable bucket or bucket seats. The prices for such rarities are still through the roof and are considered an absolute investment.

Incidentally, 4,032 of the 190-SL from 1956 left the factory, almost half of which were intended for export to the USA. Of course, many vehicles - like this one - are re-imported from overseas.

Other notable information: - Engine, gearbox and all add-on parts match the birth certificate - Photo documentation of the restoration available (well-known SL manufacturer) - Birth certificate available - Colors of the paint, interior and fabric top do not match - Spare wheel, jack, on-board tools available - Since the engine was overhauled, the Mercedes has only been driven ~130 km - complete restoration by a well-known SL manufacturer - whitewall tires including original. Steel rims and original. Chrome covers and rings - separately adjustable heating control with additional ventilation for defrosting the windows - dimming interior mirror and ashtray on the dashboard - steering wheel with chrome horn ring - Blaupunkt radio - center armrest (not original) - bumper horns - stainless steel exhaust system

The 190-SL can be viewed and test driven by appointment (appropriate purchase interest and creditworthiness are required).
