2. 3 litre 6-cylinder sports saloon, registered June 1936. Showing 3 owners since 1947 on the buff log book and possibly this may be from new. Basically unused for 40 years apart from occasional running.
All appears complete except part of the ‘Jackall’ jacking system. Interior part dismantled but appears complete and the wood work looks easily salvageable. Purchased in 2017 following the death of the previous owner. The previous owner had owned it since 1966 and was his pride and joy until he passed away. He had started restoration when ill health stopped the project. Was running when purchased. It ran without smoking and with good oil pressure although obviously requiring a tune up.
Needs a complete rewire as all of the wires look a mess!
New radiator fitted, old log books, current V5 – original number non-transferable.
I can’t find my camera charger at present so the photos are dated around 2017. There are two notable differences. The first is that when I purchased the SA, I obtained ½ a bonnet from SVW Spares and the bonnet is now back to original spec albeit half in red primer. The second change is that I have removed the non-original rear bumper which is much more pleasing on the eye (and a little shorter).
This is a very desirable MG and is a fast and usable pedigree pre-war car fitted with hydraulic brakes that will keep up with modern traffic. With a little time, great progress could be made getting her back on the road.
I am determined to sell to the right person – I’m not desperate to sell so no tyre kickers please. Genuine sale due to young family, building project and other commitments.
