Seller's comments about 1968' Porsche 911

Porsche 911 2.0 S "SWB" – January 1968

Exquisitely rebuilt to the smallest detail for 2021, this superb short-chassis 911 is an inspired recreation of what a rally-oriented 911 would have been in its time. The base of this machine is nothing less than a 1968 911 S, that is, one of the last "Short Wheel Base" to leave the Zuffenhausen factory. The first and only registration of this 911 is Portuguese, having never left the national territory.

To complement and adorn the restoration, this Porsche has CIBIÉ auxiliary fog lights, painted in the “Bahama Yellow” body color, PORSCHE horizontal black stripes on the underside of the doors, Fuchs rims with radial tires as used at the time, with 5th wheel. spare steel, rear side windows in plexiglass with “gills” in the style of the mythical 911R, and exterior rubber latches on the luggage compartment and engine cover, which only serve a decorative purpose, as the original system was kept operational.

Inside we can find several notes related to the competition, always with a view to keeping the weight as low as possible. Of particular note are the bucket seats, replicas very similar to the RECARO originally used in the Carrera RS 2.7 lightweight (very rare to find nowadays), with SCHROTH Racing 4-point seat belts, manual opening system for windows without a crank, half rollbar as used at the time and the absence of a glove box cover.

Underneath the engine cover, there is a completely rebuilt engine, powered by Weber carburetors and a Facet Red Top fuel pump, a sports exhaust system with stainless steel Bursch manifolds and a Dansk racing pan with long tips, combined with to the 901 gearbox from first to reverse. All these elements work together to provide an even more interesting and immersive driving experience.

From the most knowledgeable collector to the most distracted passerby, no one is indifferent to this piece. In addition to being a rare example and a beautiful car to behold, it is absolutely ready to turn the key and enjoy a peaceful walk by the sea, attack the curves of a mountain road, serve in the daily turns, take to the track on a track day or compete in a regular rally, typically like any other Porsche 911…
