Seller's comments about 1938' Rolls-Royce Mulliner Saloon.

Chassis number-GZR1 Registration number-EYM 345. Fascinating history, previous owners had this car for 25 years and before that Woodhead Seeds of Leeds had the car for a further 30 years. Sold new on 22nd March 1938 to the Car Mart Ltd 146/ 150 Park lane W1. First owner purchased the car on 23/ 6/ 38 Capt. W. H. S. Grant Glenlivet Whisky Banffshire. The car is one of only four built taking the form of an elegant useable four light saloon. When new the car was green and has had a full strip down glass out respray painted by Old Forge Garage, Haydon, Radstock in 2011 in Brewster Green, finished to a high standard and still looks fantastic, no cracking or blisters just a deep lovely finish. Various re chroming was also done at the time. The previous owner spared no expense keeping the car properly maintained. The engine and transmission both rebuilt by noted engineer David Haynes some 14, 000 miles ago. Just recently had a full mild steel exhaust fabricated and fitted at a vast £5, 300 by Mckensie Guppy of Dorset. Recent front suspension work and brake overhaul. GZR1 has also had a Laycock overdrive installed at great expense which makes it much more long legged on longer runs. There is a huge history file with invoices totalling a small fortune. There is a full tool kit also which sits behind the front seat. The interior of the car is original fawn leather whilst showing its age, is still very serviceable and is part of the charm and history of the car. The car features in the book Opportune Excursion the manufacturing and biography of a 1938 Rolls Royce 25/ 30 HP car. There are numerous pictures of the car and detailed history . A lovely honest unmolested car with much money spent keeping it in top order, stunning apperance and cosmetics. Runs and drives as a Rolls Royce ought. A rare opportunity to obtain a 1938 25/ 30 Mulliner one of only four built. Call Dave. May PX.
