Seller's comments about 1935' Rover 12Hp Light 6

Re advertised due to buyer leaving a deposit, and still after over two weeks of promises is still unable to get a loan to complete the purchase. So please if you bid make sure you have THE MONEY. I don`t want to be messed about any more the way I feel. The car is way under priced due to my health problems and is an investment

After restoring classic cars , for over 25 years as a hobby i finally decided to buy a car to restore and keep I bought the rover during the first lockdown, knowing it would be a while before i could use it , since it was one to keep I restored it as well as possible, with no expense spared . however august 2020 i was diagnosed with an illness . just as I finished the restoration in july this year, I had to go onto monthly treatment and the side effects arn`t very pleasant . Unfortunately the treatment will continue for many months and I was advised to drive as little, or not at all if possible. The effort of driving a heavy old car due to my age and illness, is too much of an effort at the moment, even though the car drives as it should for an 86 year old. Rather than let it sit in the garage just being polished!!! l`d rather let someone else enjoy it. Sad but have to be sensible . it cost just on £3000 just to restore it , so i am sadly on a loser.
, if it fails to sell at this bargain price, i can put it into my storage till next year when i may be able to drive it the car will also increase in value by then

Engine has been rebuilt and is excellent. In 2016 there is a receipt to show that the gearbox was overhauled and a new clutch fitted , costing £1440. in 2014 the rear axle was serviced new parts fitted and flashing indicators were fitted costing £1044. so the mechanics are excellent. I drove the car 12 miles to have the tracking set and it drove exactly as an 86 year old car should . however i`ve just rebuilt the carb. With a kit from SU and it would benefit from the carb being fine tuned when warm.
The steering box was removed which had 5 inches of play at the wheel and rebuilt by experts at a cost of £980 , this brought the play back to original. The king pins and both are excellent the steering ball joints are all adjustable which I`ve done. And the tracking set Ive had a new downpipe and exhaust flange made as the old one leaked so now the mechanics are finished . i have just bought a brand new battery as i wasn’t too sure about the one on the car, it has a three year guarantee , so no worries there for some time.
.
. Most of the engine bay wiring was replaced and I fitted an extra fuse box for safety. Even the trafficators work now when the indicators are switched on . Since the indicator stalk was damaged, there is a new one , along with an alarm to warn when they are on. All the electrics are now working , even the interior light. Ammeter also shows a charge when running.
The body required the most attention ,. most of the paint was removed and repairs to the body were carried out where required , the whole body was spayed with two or three coats of primer , coats of black and maroon base coat. When dry several coats of 2 pack lacquer were sprayed onto the body this was left for a few weeks to harden off, then flatted with 2000 wet and dry and cut and polished, leaving the body looking superb . the seats have obviously been reupholstered as they and the door cards are excellent, headlining is good. The interior is now excellent.
It is insured on a classic car policy, agreed value of £15000 costing £134 / yr this very soon runs out, and I don`t want to spend more money to reinsure it on the road, as it won`t be used, so it will go onto laid up insurance .
CASH OR BANK TXFR ONLY . I need to sell it, as I dont want to keep looking at it sat in my garage. There is also a wicker basket I bought to fit on the rear luggage frame but it was 50mm too small for what i wanted
