This is a true collector’s piece and an incredibly rare opportunity to purchase one of the most sought after Triumph Stag’s left in the world. This is ‘press release car number 8’, one of the very special pre-production cars and photographic evidence from the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust confirm this was the Press Launch car in Belgium in 1970. Twenty pre-production cars were built, mostly for press and publicity purposes and these special cars were given commission numbers from LD1 to LD20. From just initial look at this car, the first indication of this would be the 1970 H registration and the letters RVC signify a Coventry registration number. RVC 432H was built on the 27th March 1970 and finished as it presents today in New White with Inca Red upholstery. A copy of the original buff logbook suggests the car stayed with Triumph for over five years before being sold to its first private owner. The Stag was taxed in 1982 and then spent a long time off the road ahead of a major restoration that carried out in 2012. RVC 432H has been with just one owner since and has covered less than 800 miles. This Press car is beautifully finished, twelve years on since rebuild the car retains excellent bodywork, paintwork, chrome, trims, rubbers, a stunning engine bay, excellent hood and incredible body coloured underside. The upholstery has been superbly re-trimmed with beautiful seats, door card, carpets, dashboard and gauges. The condition clearly indicates the high standard of the restoration and on the road the car does not disappoint either. The engine runs perfectly offering excellent performance, gear changes are effortless and the overdrive comes in and out smoothly. The car drives as you would have expected in the early 1970's when just a few years old. There is no doubt this is a true collector's piece, and we are delighted to offers a unique opportunity for someone to purchase a significant car in the history of this British marque.
