OPE 317E is a U. K. home market RHD Triumph TR4A that requires restoration. The car comes with a 1979 dated V5, its last MOT dated September 7th, 1979, a photo of the car back in the 1970’s/ 1980’s and a current V5 confirming the car has had just 3 owners from new.This car would make the basis of a fantastic restoration and whilst it will require bodywork, it is generally a very solid car that’s been dry stored for many, many years. Whether this project was to be taken on by an individual or to be sent to a professional, the finished product will be an absolute joy to own with your own personal stamp in the history of one of Britains great classic cars.Introduced in 1965 as a refined successor to the TR4 (which debuted in 1961), the TR4A addressed some of the original's handling quirks while maintaining its accessible price point—around £968 in the UK at launch. Production totalled about 26, 000 units before it was phased out in 1967. Designed by Italian stylist Giovanni Michelotti, the TR4A retained the TR4's sleek, minimalist two-seater body with a long hood, short deck, and optional convertible top. Key visual tweaks included a revised grille, relocated chrome-trimmed signal lights, slimmer front bumpers, and a new bonnet badge for a slightly more modern look.
