Seller's comments about 1975' Volkswagen Garbus

I am selling a Beetle from 1975, 1303 LS version, engine capacity 1600 cm3. A car from the end of production in Germany with VIN number: 1342354310. The best version of the Beetle with a hard roof in history: panoramic glass, disc brakes, McPherson struts, air conditioning, heated window, headrests in the seats, what more could you want? :) Hmm... what? to write here, you have to see, touch, feel something that I unfortunately no longer experience :(. I don't have any desire for him anymore neither heart, nor time, nor money, nor simply space.... It's a pity, because the car is atmospheric and I think it will only gain historical, nostalgic and material value. The car has been in the family since 2004, it underwent a major renovation a dozen or so years ago and... it just sits there. Unfortunately, neither a warm garage nor a cover protects it against the passage of time, and the longer it sits, the more it deteriorates. However, if you put a few dozen hours of work into it, it could be worth it again fully functional and a pleasure for its owner. As I said, after the renovation, the car has been on two weddings and on several rides, and it has been standing for several years, regularly burned, but still standing. During the renovation, Garbi received hundreds of new parts and a lot of work (including: bodywork, paint, upholstery, engine overhaul, brakes, tires, etc.). However, today it requires the following care: improvement of the upholstery - especially the driver's seat is simply falling apart passage of time, improvement of the electrical system (connection of a working radio from that era, number plate control unit, reverse light, fog light and brake light do not work, in general the lights are somehow weak and used to be "normal". It stands out reverse gear - but I am using a second working gearbox that has been lying around for a dozen or so years and has not been replaced. When replacing the gearbox, it is worth sealing the engine and turning it into a pure 1600. The steering gear must be replaced because it is worn out, has a lot of play and is leaking - but it gives the second one, completely regenerated, and is waiting for replacement. After a long stop, the brake catches in the left rear wheel, the heating needs to be improved (the cables are missing and one pipe) but I'm adding new cables: clutch, heating, speedometer and something else. The worst thing was a redhead stuck to the chassis (because, as we know, the Beetle has a body bolted to the frame). I don't want to cover it with maintenance before purchasing, because I want to honestly present the actual condition of the car. Apparently there was maintenance, but the underside needs to be repaired. There is no drama. The body is ok, there is no rust. Overall, Garbi is in good condition - very good externally. You must have enthusiasm, willingness, a garage and some knowledge about old cars, or take it to a workshop specializing in such equipment. You can call and write, but you simply have to SEE this type of vehicle LIVE because they all look "perfect" in the photos. I also have a set of all the windows, a second dashboard, a hatch, a hood, moldings, wheels, half-axles and I don't know what, because I haven't looked at the boxes with these parts for ages and I simply don't remember. Of course, the car starts, drives, turns, brakes and honks. It has working wipers and a compressed air windshield washer. Due to the poor transmission and reverse, rather short trips. Price negotiable during inspection. The car is not perfect, but better than many other Beetles I have seen. I have several hundred photos of the bodywork and paint renovation. There is also a roof rack and a ski rack, screwed to the rear window above the engine cover. Photos taken on November 9, 2024. I will also consider exchanging it for a motorcycle or car.
