Once, a long, long time ago (2001…) an AZAM came from France to Holland. It was really solid, but had some dents and surface rust. The pedal box was the only constructive part that was less good. It found a new owner through us. He took a few years to get it restored to his taste.
He replaced the pedal box, completely overhauled the technical parts and replaced the red fabric upholstery in accordance with the original. He also had the car completely painted, with the paint slightly matted, and that looks very good on it.
He drove it for a while and enjoyed it. Then it was stored in the attic for a few years. Later on, it was reintroduced on the road, but not used very often. That’s why we’re trying to match it with a new owner. It’s much too much fun to just let it rest in a corner!
Quiet often we get asked: “is it an AZAM6?”. No, it’s the French model with 425cc and 18hp. It’s somewhat less quick, but has the same charming details and shiny trim, and is even more fit for enjoying slow life.
